Dr. Sachse, a Board Certified general surgeon and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, has focused his practice on minimally invasive procedures. He excels in providing superior clinical skills and decision-making with expert technical skills in the operating room. He continues to advance his knowledge and skills to be able to provide the best possible surgical conditions to take care of his patients and get patients back to their daily lives as quickly as possible.
While many procedures can be done using laparoscopic methods with 4 or 5 small incisions, some procedures can be robotically assisted surgeries. Dr. Sachse is trained to use the Da Vinci robot and was the FIRST general surgeon using this technology at Reston Hospital Center. Having performed more than 500 robotic cases, Dr. Sachse has mentored other surgeons to use this technology and continues to incorporate cutting-edge advances into clinical practice. Gallbladder removal with the robot is usually performed with only one incision, at the belly button.
