SUWS of the Carolinas
SUWS of the Carolinas is located in Old Fort, North Carolina and provides wilderness therapy programming. Children and adolescents between the ages of 10 and 17 can be treated at one of our programs, Approach, Phoenix Outdoor, Seasons, and SUWS, which are all located in North Carolina. These programming options address a number of conditions within this age group. Some of the most common issues we treat through these programs include substance abuse, behavioral issues, autism spectrum disorders, depression, mood disorders, and more. Throughout each program, patients can benefit from 12-Step programming, experiential therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), equine assisted therapy, mindfulness and meditation, and more. The staff at each of our programs includes therapists, a psychiatrist, a nurse, an EMT, an equine assisted learning expert, and two therapy dogs. Each program prides itself on the safety and effectiveness of all therapies and activities provided. In addition, our staff stands behind the evidence-based benefits of wilderness programs such as those provided through SUWS.
