He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering at the University of Pittsburgh and completed medical school at A.T. Still University of Health Sciences/Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his internship at Doctors Hospital, Columbus, Ohio, and his residency in anesthesiology at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, as well as, at UPMC and its Pain Evaluation & Treatment Institute. Dr. Toshok also has appointments in Pain Management at UPMC Presbyterian and UPMC East; Excela Health’s Westmoreland, Latrobe and Frick Hospitals; Highlands Hospital; and Life Care Hospital of Pittsburgh in Monroeville.
Dr. Toshok is a member of both the American Osteopathic Association and the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association, and has been in private pain management since 1999. He is double board certified in Anesthesiology and in Pain Management. He is frequentlly asked by pharmaceutical companies to speak about topics related to drug development and use and also has an interest in regenerative medicine for painful musculoskeletal disorders.
