I must give Solomons Veterinary Medical Center one or less star. I have visited and had appointments with them more than once over the years. The care is satisfactory....but I will say....the pricing is WAY off the chart. I recently had my cat in for a dental evaluation. I think the person tending her was a "newish" veterinarian? I have had cat's (over the past 30 years...I am familiar with exams) This exam was handled awkwardly....first I was told the cat had a heart murmur...and a Ultrasound $600 or at the very least x-rays $$$) recommended prior to any teeth cleaning. The office visit....blood work, shots (oh talked into a one year rabies vs a 5 yr?, an antibiotic shot for her mouth pre-surgery...and a bag full of pre-filled pain relief syringes (very nice but I could fill it myself, The office visit charge was $370! (To walk in it is $79 to start) anyway....I got the estimate for the teeth cleaning....( ummm I turned down the dental "SEALANT" offered. The estimate came to low end $ 1483....high end $ 2295! I got a second opinion at a very reputable veterinarian, who has been in business for 30 years....The dental estimate I received was...low end $571 High end $818. MUCH more in line with what I expected. My cat had her procedure, along with new blood work...OH and by the way SHE DOES NOT HAVE A HEART MURMUR.....I also had her micro chipped. She had 3 non-complicated extractions and 3 complex extractions....The final bill was $560.01. I wrote this because EVERYONE should be aware that Solomons Veterinary Medical Center pricing is ridiculous...and I felt as if I was being up-sold....with a bunch of non-sense....and also....I was told I'd need to have her blood checked after the procedure...AND put her on different food....(of course sold by them). My animals welfare is important....of course not all of us can afford a fortune. My cat is happy after her procedure....and I am too.
