Patients are referred to Kindred Hospitals for continuation of acute medical care because the severity and complexity of their medical condition precludes them from being accepted into a rehab transitional unit, subacute facility or a skilled nursing unit. Our patients require continued care and extended recovery time and were unable to recover in the short-term acute care setting.
Kindred Hospital is distinguished among its competitors by its focus on caring for higher acuity patients. These patients are typically ventilator-dependent, technology dependent (requiring services such as IV therapy or dialysis) or have medically complex conditions such as pulmonary disease, cardiac disease, pressure wounds or post-operative complications. Kindred Hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission and certified by Medicare.
