TrainingAs an undergraduate in the Anthropology Department at Penn State University, I had an opportunity to intern for a PhD student who was studying the dental traits of baboons. That next summer I was invited to the Southwest Foundation for Biomedical Research in San Antonio, Texas to take impressions of baboon teeth and study their dentition, which was fascinating for me.
Back at Penn State I was lucky enough to work on the Human Genome Project, a scientific research endeavor designed to identify and map human DNA. While working on this project, I met with many people to collect dental impressions and catalog dental traits and measurements. At this point I discovered I liked being around people, connecting with others on a personal level and making their day brighter. This is when I first realized I wanted to be a dentist.
With my professional goals clear, I graduated from Temple University’s Kornberg School of Dentistry, where I’m also an adjunct professor, and I’ve been practicing in Plymouth Meeting for over 6 years. In that time, I’ve also invested in continuing studies to help me stay at the forefront of dental technology. This helps me continue to provide the best dental services possible to you.
