When looking for a Massage Therapist, you want to find someone with the clinical skills as well as nurturing touch that makes massage so fantastic. Let me explain why I am that therapist.
My experience is over 20 years of practice, and about 5,000 hours of education. This education spans a great range of styles. Primarily, my style is goal oriented. Having trained for 3 years/3,000 hours at The West Coast College of Massage Therapy in BC Canada, often regarded as North America's finest clinical massage school, I have learned to view the body in a clinically oriented manner. This means understanding which treatments benefit the various conditions you may be experiencing, and which treatments do not. This education provided me with an incredible array of tools for assessing and treating many of today's most common sources of aches and pains.
Having studied at Crystal Mountain, in Albuquerque, NM, I also integrate the more nurturing aspects of massage into most treatments. This means that while you are while you are in treatment, not only are your clinical needs being met, your mental and emotional needs for stress reduction and a heartfelt touch are held in the highest regard.
Treatments typically do not follow strict time guidelines. My goal is to help you see results. We start with an hour as the basic relaxation treatment time, but as different bodies react at different paces, treatments often extend up to two hours. No extra charge is applied for this. It may aid your understanding to think of my style as, "Some recipes instruct you to bake at 350 for an hour. My recipe is to bake until golden brown. This can sometimes take more than an hour."
