Dr. Johnnie Alston received his undergraduate degree from the University of South Alabama. He received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. He continued his education at the Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System residency program which focused on podiatric medicine and foot and ankle surgery. Dr. Alston joined the wound care team at the Institute for Advanced Wound Care at Baptist Hospital South in 2008. He has been working part time with Montgomery Foot Care Specialists since 2017 and started full time in 2021.He is a member of the Alabama Podiatric Medical Association as well as the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and the Alabama Board of Prosthetists and Orthotists. Dr. Alston has focused on wound care and limb salvage for the past 13 years. He is a Certified Wound Specialist Physician certified by the American Board of Wound Management.
Dr. Heidi Christie earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Sienna Heights College in Adrian, Michigan. She received her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Christie remained in Chicago to complete her residency that was based out of Cook County Hospital. Her training focused on Podiatric Medicine, Orthopedics and Diabetic Foot Care/Limb Salvage.
Dr. Christie moved to Alabama and helped open Montgomery Foot Care Specialists in 1998. She loves practicing Podiatry and has been blessed with an amazing work family that has helped facilitate the growth of Montgomery Foot Care Specialists. Dr. Christie has 2 daughters who are pursuing careers in the healthcare field as well. Dr. Christie is a member of the Alabama Podiatric Medical Association as well as The American Podiatric Medicine Association.
