Born in Wilkes-Barre, Dr. Kaufman attended King's College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He received his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in 1991.
Dr. Kaufman completed his surgical training on the foot and ankle at Coast Plaza Doctor's Hospital in Norwalk, California, where he gained expertise in foot and ankle surgery, as well as arthroscopic and endoscopic surgical techniques.
Dr. Kaufman has a strong interest in second opinions and revisional surgery. He maintains expertise in foot and ankle pathology and has been closely involved with the medical and surgical education of podiatric surgical residents at St. Luke’s University Hospital. Dr. Kaufman has been invited faculty to lecture on foot and ankle reconstructive surgery with regard to the use of medical devices in foot and ankle reconstruction, and has served as expert faculty for skilled lab workshops.
