After obtaining her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 1987 from Nishtar Medical College in Multan, Pakistan, Dr Khokhar completed her residency in obstetrics & gynecology at Nishtar Hospital in 1987. She then completed another residency in obstetrics & gynecology at Azad Jammu and Kashmir Hospital in Muzaffarabad, Pakistan, in 1991.
