I have found this company impossible to work with. They do not return calls in a timely way and do not communicate about billing issues effectively, or really at all. I was billed more than the original quoted price and more than their competitors charge for the same treatment. They never called me back about my inquiries over this issue for months, but then refused treatment at the very last minute because they said I owed them money, while also admitting they had made inexplicable errors. I have spent over two weeks trying to schedule appointments when it was medically urgent within a three day window. In some cases, I was never able to schedule and just went without treatment. The staff for the pharmacy, billing and nursing departments seems to know nothing about each others' business, even though it seems like a small company, and they do a bad job of coordinating among themselves and making patient care a priority. Weirdly they all refer to each other by their first names to me as if I have met or spoken with them!? Given the stories I have heard from my nurse, (who is actually fantastic – competent, intelligent and normal) they may be getting away with this terrible service because many of their patients come from dis-empowered populations and are psychologically and emotionally ill, in addition to their physical problems. This makes me more upset on their behalf because AMI's lack of customer service and poor organization lead to serious neglect of patients.
