Our family of 5 has gone to Dr Billings office for years. I’ve always enjoyed the doctor’s quirky wit. However, we started having poor experiences last year when we came in for an annual exam for glasses for my kids. Because my sons were wearing contacts to the appointment, he also performed a contact lens exam - although I did not ask for or approve it - then charged me over $100 for each contact lens exam. The front office staff did nothing to resolve the issue. For some reason we came back this year - not for exams, only for frames & lenses. We purchased frames for my oldest son only to have them break twice in one month. The frames were too tight on his face which placed pressure on the frames causing them to crack. We paid to have them replaced the first time. The second time I was not willing to pay to have them replaced; I wanted the office to find a permanent solution for the problem their technician caused for recommending and adjusting glasses that did not ever properly fit his face. The initial technician was kind and tried to be helpful, but I was not happy with paying again for another replacement pair in less than one month. So, I asked to speak with the manager. The manager came out and asked me what was wrong, but he didn’t even let me finish my sentence before he interrupted me. He proceeded to tell me my child must have slept in, sat on, or wrestled in his glasses to cause the break. There was no listening, no reasoning, no apologies, no respect, no service recovery. He was extremely unprofessional. He demanded that we leave and we were told we could never return to the property. I was upset, but I did not yell, curse, make threats or insults or any other out-of-control behavior. I simply asked to be listened to and an appropriate solution found. He threatened to call the police when I asked if I could speak to the doctor himself or anyone else in the office. I would encourage you to avoid this office at all costs. You will no longer find ethical or respectful behavior inside these walls.
