Dr. Runkel was born and raised in Wisconsin where she also received her undergraduate education at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI.
Dr. Runkel completed podiatry school at the William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in North Chicago, IL where she graduated with honors.
Dr. Runkel completed residency training in Chicago, IL and was chief resident throughout her second year of residency.
Outside of podiatry Dr. Runkels life centers on family and friends. Her family is now located in Hilton Head Island, SC where they all enjoy many bike rides and bocce ball matches at the beach. Her hobbies include camping, hiking, golf, and running. She particularly loves participating in races benefiting charitable organizations and hopes to train for a marathon someday.
