Unlike most assisted living facilities, Senior Care of Canton specializes in meeting the needs of those delicate elderly with more extensive physical needs. Residents have a ratio of 2:1 care and are always within a few feet or their caregiver, not down a long hallway. If needed, residents are spoon, or tube fed, slowly and patiently, bed or shower bathed, transferred gently from bed to chair, and so on. Any necessary equipment is brought in and is typically covered by Medicare. If the resident qualifies, then physical, speech and occupational therapy will be provided in the home as well. When a resident's care needs increase, he, or she, is not asked to leave Senior Care of Canton. Because we hold dear the "Aging in Place" philosophy, which respects a persons right to stay out of an institution, residents are not asked to leave as their care needs increase. Rather, care plans are adjusted to meet the changing needs of the resident.
