I utilize an approach which emphasizes a deeper level of insight into your psychology and the importance of the therapeutic relationship. Together we will work towards creating change by understanding yourself through exploration of your concerns, current and past relationships, fears and wishes, dreams, motivators, and patterns of relating to others.
Therapy works by gradually discovering and examining thoughts and feelings. Traumatic experiences often causes people to create defense mechanisms that can initially be a useful and adaptive in the face of trauma or stress, but has the potential to become destructive if it is overused or has come to replace the ability to process and cope with painful thoughts and feeling. This is at the root of anxiety, depression, relationship problems, insecurities, loneliness and other issues.
Within the context of a trusting therapeutic relationship there is an opportunity to share your thoughts and feelings and have them accepted by another.
