I received my certification in Massage Therapy from NVCC in 2005 and in 2006 became licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia, furthering my knowledge in the specialties of Pregnancy Massage and Oncology Massage. I believe in the benefits of massage and want to promote them in a way to help provide relief whether it is to help recover from an injury or ailment, relieve and give ease in pregnancy or just find blissful relaxation.

I strongly believe that massage is an important part of one’s healthcare, as it focuses on physical, mental, and emotional well-being. It creates the whole of a person while helping to reduce stress, ease pain, and promote relaxation. I take great pride in teaching parents the benefits of infant massage which helps create a deeper bonding experience that occurs through the loving touch an infant receives through their parents.

I have been a volunteer for ERMI (Emergency Response Massage International) since 2008. I have been trained to work on first responders in the event of a national disaster to provide relief, re-engerzie and give support while they are out there giving their all. I am credentialed through FEMA in first response awareness. I enjoy and find great importance in giving back to my community.

Oncology Massage training: Lauren Cates (Compassion and Clinical Service: Oncology/Hospital Massage Intensive)

Pregnancy Massage training : on-hands training at a MedSpa and through Kate Jordan (Bodywork for the Childbearing Years)
