I went to see Dr. Rhoads for neck, upper, and lower back pain. I was very skeptical about seeing a chiropractor for the first time, but I decided to give it a shot. Scheduling an appointment couldn’t have been easier; I called at 9 and was in to the office at 10:30.
I arrived for my 10:30 appointment at 10:20 but was not seen until 11:00, by this point I was having second thoughts about coming to a chiropractor. When he introduced himself as Doctor Rhoads, he had a very arrogant and full of himself attitude. I had never been to a doctor who acted that way, every doctor I had ever been to would introduce themselves as Doctor but went by their first name. At 11:00 after he introduced himself he told me to follow him. I followed him to an exam room where I had me sit on an exam table while he asked me some questions. He clicked away on a computer the entire time he was asking me questions. Then he had me take off my shirt and lay face down, he very quickly ran his fingers up and down my back, pushing in a few spots. Then he had me sit up and turn side to side as he checked range of motion. Then he said at this point he usually takes several x-rays. I declined when he said that they weren’t necessary. He then had me follow him to another room with a high-low table that he demonstrated how to get on. I got on the table and went for a ride on the down. Then he grabbed a vibrating massager and ran it up and down my back and neck for about 5-8 minutes. After turning off the massager he instructed me to inhale and exhale after each exhale he gave a light thrust in different spots up and down my back. He did this about 6 or 7 times and then brought the table back upright. When I got off the table I asked him if that was it and he said “that’s it, we will need to set up a 3 appointments a week for the next 3-4 months”. When I asked about e stim or ultrasound like a few friends told me about he said that he didn’t have the time to do anything else today, that he would need more notice. He had me put my shirt back on and follow me back up front. Even though he did not do anything more than an exam and adjustment he charged me $95 and told me all other visits will be $45 but if I do e stim or ultrasound it would be about $60. He pressured me into 3 visits a week for 6 months. I left still in pain and very unsatisfied with the services or lack thereof provided. I returned for I more visit and was charged $50 not $45 and was only massaged and adjusted.

Doctor. Rhoads is an incredible quack for what he did to me. I left his office after the second visit and vowed never to return. I was sure all chiropractors were the same until I met John Prunty at Dakota Family Chiropractic. I friend of mine suggested I see after I was looking in the phone book and I have been with him ever since. I was pain free after the first visit and continue going 1-2 times a month to stay feeling good. John is always willing to accommodate my schedule and never will charge more than $45 aside from the 1st for $65.

I went to see Dr. Rhoads for my shoulder and upper back hurting. He got me in right away. He didnt however do very much for my pain. I had 3 visits and still had pain in my shoulder and upper back. A typical visit was me laying face down on the table and him running a percussion massager up and down my back focusing on my shoulder, and then pressing down on my shoulder to adjust it. An appointment always seemed kind of rushed so all and all I would reccomend Dr. Rhoads for someone who is not very active or a smaller person. Since I am active and 6'3'' and 250 lbs the adjusting technique of Dr. Rhoads didnt get much to move. I have since changed to Dr. John Prunty and his adjusting technique works better for me. I was pain free after only 2 visits to Dr. Prunty.
