My primary focus is on mindfulness-based practices and cognitive behavioral interventions. My goal is to help you acknowledge and release emotional pain from past experiences that result in your feeling stuck and unhappy. In doing so, you may find it easier to cope with day-to-day challenges and stressors, and improve your relationships with others in the process.
I have training and experience in working with you if you have an ongoing or newly-diagnosed mental health condition, including major depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety disorders. As an important component of improving your mental health, I strongly encourage you in building and/or improving a personal support system to enhance your coping skills and reinforce your efforts toward wellness.
Other concerns that I may be able to help you with include grief and loss, a history as a victim of abuse, major life transitions, a damaged sense of self-worth or self-confidence, LGBTQ issues, and coping with a loved one who is suffering from dementia.
I believe that we each have the capacity for healing, change, and transformation if we are willing to seek them. I welcome the opportunity to help you along the way.
