About
I believe that people have within themselves all that is necessary to meet the demands of life in a positive and productive manner. As a counselor, I am honored to be a part of an individuals journey of exploration, growth, and self-awareness, in an effort to facilitate healing and positive change.
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and a TEA (Texas Education Agency) Certified School Counselor. I have clinical experience in a variety of settings, including schools, mental health facilities, correctional facilities, rehabilitation programs, and private practice. I have worked with young children, adolescents, struggling families, and individuals and families dealing with addiction and mental health issues. I have twenty years experience in education, as a classroom teacher and public school counselor.
I believe my experience, both professional and personal, give me a keen insight needed to facilitate a collaborative, dynamic, and meaningful counseling experience. I value open and honest communication and trust is the cornerstone for my practice. I recognize the connection of past experiences, to an individuals current life situation, but focus is placed on hope and motivation for positive change.
