I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Baylor University and a Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work, specializing in treatment of children and families, from the University of Texas in Austin. I have gained work experience in a variety of locations to include: Kentucky Medical Institute (Louisville, Ky.), The Austin Wilderness Center (Austin, Tx.), The Brown Schools (Austin, Texas), Cedar Springs Hospital, The Cleo Wallace Center, and Cheyenne Mesa Hospital. I have worked in the Pikes Peak region since 1990.
I have 30 plus years of experience in the mental health field, serving children (aged 4 to young adults) and their families. The past 20 years I have been in my private practice in Monument, Co. I enjoy helping individuals and families heal and I provide concrete parenting tools to improve parent's skills and confidence. I believe the foundation of a person's positive mental health lies in strong attachments and healthy relationships. I enjoy doing family therapy, as well as individual therapy. I am trained in a variety of modalities including art, sand, and play therapy, experiential therapy, and EMDR.
I specialize in treating trauma, anxiety (including OCD), depression, Bi-Polar Disorder, loss, grief, attachment problems, family issues, and school challenges.
I am a provider for Tri-Care Standard and Victim's Compensation. All other insurances will be courtesy billed at no cost to the patient. Reimbursement will be determined by the patient's insurance company.
