This organization is misnamed. It should be called the "Professional Exploitation Center" or the "Career Destruction Center" because the CEO, Betsy Williams, specializes in exploiting physicians and ruining their careers. Mrs. Williams spends very little, if any, time seeing the clients she is supposedly treating, yet decides how long each of them must stay at her facility (12 weeks or longer, usually) and if and when they are "fit" to return to practice. The center does no independent investigation into the complaint against the client. Their method is to force the client to confess to everything he (or she) is accused of, wallow in shame for 12 weeks, grovel, and agree with everything their social worker and/or psychologist says (even if the therapists contradict each other). Clients who don't confess to everything they are accused of are "unfit to practice" (even if they were considered a "top doctor" for many years and this was the first complaint against them). Clients who learn to play the game may be found fit to practice, but at the cost of having any possibility of professional satisfaction or happiness destroyed. PRC standard practice is every client allowed to return to practice must come back to PRC every 10 weeks (for 5+ days - never schedule a return plane ticket until Betsy says you can leave!) and pay PRC an additional $3000+, sign up for 3 hours every week of phone counseling (costing several thousand dollars per year, which must be paid in advance), and all of your coworkers must be informed of all the accusations against you and must spy on you constantly and report if you do anything suspicious, unusual, questionable or that they don't like (with your career constantly hanging in the balance), as well as, in many cases, paying for and undergoing forensic polygraphs every 3 months (again, with your career constantly hanging in the balance if you are "overreactive" during the polygraph). The priorities of the CEO (Betsy Williams) seem to be maximizing her income, enhancing her reputation, and protecting herself. If she has any true interest in helping her clients, it is a very, very, very distant fourth in her list of priorities.
In short, doctors and other professionals considering going to PRC to save their careers must realize PRC will help take their money (>$50,000) in return, at best, for salvaging a miserable career, at the cost of spending all of your future vacation time at PRC wallowing in shame and agreeing with Betsy Williams and her confederates. If you are guilty of everything you are accused of and desirous or deserving of 12 weeks of psychological torture, this is the place for you. Otherwise, I recommend you hire an aggressive lawyer who has experience defending professionals accused of misconduct, instead of naively expecting that PRC will help you.
