I entered therapy with Owen Lugar many years ago because I wanted help dealing with my very poor self-esteem. After working with Owen, any good feelings about myself quickly disappeared. He was bold, arrogant, moody and he usually hurt my feelings. He constantly criticized me, in a nasty way, week after week. Owen made no attempt to develop any rapport with me. At times, he refused to believe things I told him even though I never lied to him. When I told him my father molested me he chose not to believe me. (It took a tremendous amount of courage for me to reveal this information). I'm receiving therapy now, and, thanks to a great therapist, I've made strides in dealing with the tragic time I went through in therapy with him. Luckily, I've also talked to former patients of his, that dislike him, as well as some of his colleagues. That has helped me heal. I hope my comments have been helpful to people. That is my intent.
