This guy is one of the sweetest and most pleasant people to talk to. He engages, and asks questions in a comfortable way, and adds his own thoughts to the conversation.

The downside is that he has no office staff, and makes his own appointments. Twice in a year's time he has written down one date on my appointment card and another in his calendar. The problem is that there is a place on the card for the date, and also a place to circle the day of the week. I never check to see that they correspond, and show up on the date and time listed. The first time I didn't say anything, showed up and he took me anyway. (He seemed to be overbooked but he took me.) This was in January. The second time was for my latest appointment (November). I showed up, waited 45 minutes, finally went and knocked on his door, and no one was there!! I borrowed a piece of paper from someone in the office next to his, and put it under his door. This is a long story, and I'll spare you the details. Long story short, he put in his notes that I did not show up and charged me $50 for a no-show. MEANWHILE, in June I actually messed up and missed an appointment. There was a $50 charge for that, which I paid without complaint, as I knew the mistake was mine. The invoice he gave me when I rescheduled looked like I owed $90 - which is what I paid. I finally caught the mistake, got a call from the bookkeeper saying she owed me, and I left her a message that I would just take the credit at my next appointment. Which was the one where he didn't show up. So I still don't have the money they owe me, and he has put in his notes that I owe $50 for a no-show. Which was HIS not showing up. I put the card under his door so he would see I was there, so now I have no proof of the discrepancy.

So I'm out of refills on my presciption, the pharmacy has called him for refills, and he has not authorized the refills. I called him to ask him why, and he said, "I've responded to all phone calls. I would have answered if the pharmacy had called." So I told the pharmacist this, and he had records saying he had faxed the request on such-and-such a date, then again on another date, then again on another date. Last of which was that they had called the doctor this morning. When I told them what he said, they tried to call him again (as I had just spoken to him), and he STILL won't refill the medicine. It's an anti-depressant, so it's not life=-thereatening, but the whole reason I'm out is because he didn't show up for the appointment. This is medication, after all, and is supposedly medical. So it's like the medical considerations of withdrawing are not of concern to him.

VERY FRUSTRATING, this guy. I'm working on finding someone else. He is honestly a sweet guy and nice to sit and talk with, but he seems to be a bit of a bumbler, and I'm starting to suspect him now of being downright dishonest. He has certainly lied about the pharmacy. And owes me money from June (or maybe July) that he is not honoring.

He's nice, but I'd suggest you keep looking if you want reliable and ethical treatment.
