Felton Veterinary Services was established in 1996 to provide veterinary assistance to the Brooklyn Animal Resource Coalition (BARC Shelter). Utilizing her experience at the Humane Society of New York, Dr. Felton sought to bring primary medical care to the under-recognized population of stray and shelter-adopted animals living in the North Brooklyn communities of Williamsburg and Greenpoint. Over the years, the practice has slowly expanded to treat feline and canine residents from all walks of life in our growing and diverse neighborhood.
At Felton Veterinary Services, our philosophy is to combine the intimate and comfortable experience of a small local practice with the highest standards of medical care, including state-of-the-art wellness plans and innovative management of chronic diseases. We strive to be part of a team with our patients’ owners, taking the necessary steps to tailor and enact the best preventive care or therapeutic treatment strategies for each individual pet, based on their unique needs and lifestyle. Additionally, our office maintains close relationships with specialists at several of New York City’s leading referral hospitals, including Blue Pearl, Animal Medical Center, and the Animal Endocrine Clinic, so there is never a shortage of options when it comes to diagnosing and managing your pet’s illness.
Since Felton Veterinary Services first opened its doors, our practice has been anchored by the steadfast belief that the bond between pets and their owners is something that prevails and endures through the many changes to our lives and our communities. We make cherishing and preserving that special bond our fundamental goal in everything we do. Just as we consider our pets to be integral parts of our own families, so too do we consider our patients and their owners as integral parts of this practice.

When the opportunity became available to work with B.A.R.C. to improve and grow their shelter in Williamsburg, she couldn't refuse. Thus in 1996, Felton Veterinary Services was born. The practice has been growing and flourishing with the neighborhood - and B.A.R.C. - ever since. Dr. Felton is a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, certified in Companion Animal Practice, and USDA-accredited for International Health Certificates.
