Our Medina veterinary hospital offers a wide range of diagnostic services. Our in-house lab is able to do hemograms, profiles, electrolytes and coagulation testing. We have two biomicroscopes, a centrifuge and full urinalysis capabilities. We offer cutting edge digital radiography and ultrasonography. The advatages of digital radiography over traditional x-rays taken with film include: faster imaging, ability to enhance or adjust images obtained, images are easily stored and shared with clients or other veterinarians and pets are exposed to less radiation when compared to traditional radiographs. Our ultrasound unit is able to produce 3-D images when appropriate and is equipped with colorflow Doppler. We can use our ultrasound to evaluate the abdomen or heart and in specific cases it allows us to obtain aspirates or biopsies without having to make a surgical incision.
Endoscopy with our Olympus endoscope enables us to look down the trachea and esophagus. We are able to search the stomach, small intestines and colon for foreign bodies and tumors. Like our ultrasound unit, we can excise a biopsy with the endoscope with no surgical incision.
Our veterinarians can check for glaucoma in your pet by measuring the eye pressure with our Tonopen. Animal Medical Centre of Medina, Inc. specializes in a full line of soft tissue and orthopedic surgical procedures.
Our surgical suite uses blood pressure, respiratory and heart rate monitors, in addition to an EKG and pulse oximeter to continuously monitor your pet during surgery. The surgery suite also features heated surgical tables, three anesthesia machines, piped oxygen,defribrillator, autocalve and incubator.
