I politely emailed her to inquire about her practice. She completely blew me off, saying all the information could be found on her webpage. She wrote that she's not the therapist for me. She is arrogant and unprofessional. I'm not surprised she treated the previous reviewer the way she did.

I was so disappointed, this therapist looked great 'on paper'....however this is not someone I would see again. My first clue should have been her photo (it's either not her or is 30+ years old- this photo shows a young blonde woman, the woman I saw is around 70 w/ long gray hair)- that's fine if she has a cute old picture, maybe I'm wrong but I think you want to use something no older than 5 years or so for a profile pic (so there is some disconnect there!) Secondly she was late for our first meeting, she apologized- no biggie....but noted. Neither of these things alone were enough for me not to come back, just a bit of a foreshadowing.

Our next meeting; her office door was locked, her car was not there. I waited and banged on the door- nothing. I left 2 messages and then left after 25 min. She calls back 22 hours later and asks why I did not call her cell or text her (um, because your card only has one number on it? That's the one I called.) I'm all for texting, but you need to 1. give me the number and 2. let me know this is how you wish to communicate. She apologized but then made it seem like it were my fault for not calling her, but why did she not call me...or walk 10 steps to her door, or peek into the parking lot? I'm thinking she either was not there or forgot....she mentioned she didn't check her messages until late that night. If it were me and a client did not show up I would have checked my messages and left the client one of my own too! I would be worried if a client did not show up without explanation!

Bottom line: you can't treat clients that way...perhaps the therapy would have been good- but the framework was awful, I could never develop any level of trust for someone so apathetic about appointment times....and who tried to pass the blame onto me! Such a shame to see therapists treating people this way.
