A straightforward insightful therapist with a no nonsense style similar to Dr Phil. An added bonus is the fact that Doug is a devout Christian. Over the years I seen several other therapists and family counselors, none of them compare to Doug Porter.

For couples counseling, I felt he didn't really offer any solid guidance. It was mostly what do I think, what should I do. So I picked a topic to work on, but I was not ready, and it didn't go well. Another person felt the same way about his lack of guidance. After learning some information later on, and reflecting on my sessions, I'm wondering if he did right by me. Left me questioning his techniques and "morals". No, I'm not trying to get back at him, just my honest experience.
