I saw Dr, Evelo several years ago and I was surprised when she repeatedly would bring her dogs into my session ostensibly to help "calm" me. The dogs, although they were sweet animals did not belong in my session.Dr. Evelo never requested my permission nor did she explore her rationale for bringing them in unannounced. One of her dogs would sit on her lap, commanding her attention. Frankly, I was shocked at her arrogant,misguided choices throughout my treatment. It took me years to sort out these unethical behaviors on her part and I would not recommend her as a treatment provider. I understand from several sources that she has a history in the professional community of choices with colleagues which were vindictive, selfish and impacted several competent professionals careers. These individuals were struggling with personal matters which clearly required attention, however Dr. Evelo took these matters into her own hands and made things significantly more difficult. I was a patient of one of the providers who was impacted. It was difficult when Dr, Evelo chose to "be helpful" and disrupted the care I was receiving from a highly competent Feminist therapist who specialized in areas relevant to my personal concerns. To this day, Dr. Evelo continues to self justify with a sense of superiority and grandiosity. Dr. Evelo has never assumed any responsibility for her destructive conduct and its far reaching impact upon many other people.
