Along with my sister, we brought my nine year old nephew in for a hearing exam. He had been struggling in school and had become the class clown. After undergoing the hearing testing, he was diagnosed with moderate to severe hearing loss. Dr. Gwen Kandula was very compassionate and addressed our social concerns regarding the teasing he might experience wearing a hearing aid. He was fitted with two hearing aids, and their office even used a "virtual reality room" where they can tweak your hearing aid to simulate outside environments. When he returned to school from Christmas break, he was the hit of the class. His "blue tooth" was very popular. He went from being held back one year to on the honor roll! He now has many friends and no behavioral issues. Dr. Gwen Kandula sees him regularly to adjust and program his hearing aids. It is always easy to get an appointment, and the staff is very friendly. Dr. Gwen Kandula truly cares about her patients and their well being.
