Dr. Ness is a clinical psychologist whose practice provides services to children, adolescents and adults who are dealing with emotional issues, behavioral difficulties, problems coping with life circumstances or trouble with relationships. Treatment draws upon the latest research findings and is tailored to individuals' needs. Dr. Ness also recognizes the value of a collaborative approach to treatment and seeks regular feedback and updates from health care providers, teachers and parents, particularly when working with children. Areas of specialty include helping parents more effectively deal with challenging behavior, as well as helping children and their parents better cope with the special challenges associated with ADHD, learning disabilities, problems with executive function or cognitive impairment. Dr. Ness also specializes in psychological assessment to determine whether an individual may be exhibiting symptoms of ADHD, learning disability and/or problems with emotional or psychological adjustment. A thorough evaluation can often be the first step toward breaking the gridlock and frustration that many parents and children face with academic or behavioral issues.
