Bette is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist and Ordained Interfaith Minister. She specializes in trauma (PTSD) and traumatic grief with individuals and families who have suffered the loss of a loved one to sudden or sudden and violent death. This includes homicide, suicide, vehicular fatalities and deaths incurred from domestic violence. She also works with those in the process of loss to divorce, employment, home or any life transition which causes disruption.
As it is impossible to work in the area of grief and loss without questions emerging about spiritualty, lack of spirituality or no belief ie. anger at God, agnosticism, loss of faith, Bette attended seminary and was Ordained as an Interfaith Minister. She welcomes all walks of faith. She would say that she doesn't have "answers" but is certainly acquainted with the questions!
Because chronic PTSD and issues of grief and loss can occur from childhood losses or abuse, Bette also works with past issues of trauma, neglect, and abandonment
