Pilates incorporates abdominal and back strengthening exercises with flexibility and release movements. The instructor, Kristen Loving, specializes in modifying the exercises to accommodate individual strength and weaknesses.

I’ve been working with Kristen for about a year and have made major progress on my range of motion limitations, postural awareness, core muscle activation and I nappropriate muscle recruitment. So many muscles ... so many issues. She emphasizes awareness of the many small muscles that we seem to stop using as we age. Her Friday morning (7:30) “thick men’s” class has been very supportive and particularly helpful. Kristen has “magic fingers” that instantly release tension in my neck and shoulders. She also knows how and when to push and pull me into proper alignment. I am a huge challenge- often sending confusing signals re: whst’s Going on in my body.... a truly a “high maintenance” client ... Kristen has been patient with me. She has never shirked responsibility for my well-being no matter how frustrated or difficult I’ve been. This woman is a gifted healer.
