My Mother was in the ER and she had dizziness and fainting at home. The ER doctor did labwork and ordered xrays to cover all bases for her symptoms.
The Xray tech, told my mom she quote"never did a cat scan of her abdomen and she went to get help. My mom does have an abdominal aneursym and its been 3.8 cm for a year( she goes every 6 months for a test).
When the doctor gave my mom the results he said it was 8cms and all her tests were negative and sent her home. My mom was there for 8 hours and the doctor complained to her that he was the only emergency room doctor on duty and he will get her discharged as soon as they can. When the nurse gave my mom her discharge papers nothing was said about her following up with her pcp and gave her a prescription for dizziness. They also gave her copies of her reports and disc to take with her doctor. The staff did NOT show any concern to her about the aneursym which was according to the report 8 cm.
My mom called her doctor the next day and they worked her in. Her doctor was very angry because the hospital read her tests wrongand called the hospital.. My mom had to repeat all the tests over again and her aneursym is still a 3.8 cm. What idiots!!!!!!!!!!!
My mother and my entire family were very distraut with worry about the mistake this er made. This hospital owes my Mother an apologyand to this day she has NOT received one!!!!! This hospital has changed drastically and its NOT for the good. They made a huge mistake by merging with saint joseph's!!! Its sad you have to go out of the area to get good compliant medical care!!!

Go here if you want to die. Seriously, I wouldn't trust these people to take care of my dog. I have heard negative things about the care you receive from EVERYONE I have ever talked to, and that's not an exaggeration. And the few times I've gone it has been the worse experience of my life. Doctors and nurses are completely incompetent. I'm going to be having a baby soon, and I'm planning on driving 2 hours to Charleston in labor because I don't trust this place to deliver a baby, something people have been doing since the dawn of time! One girl told me that the nurses kept giving her medicine she was allergic to the entire time she was in the maternity ward and warned me to write down any I was allergic to on a piece of paper and stick it to my IV. I got kicked in the shin once and I went there because there was something obviously wrong, they didn’t find anything. Guess what, I have a HUGE dip in my shin bone now that says otherwise. I could go on and on! STAY AWAY from here for anything serious, ALWAYS have an advocate present, and AVOID at ALL costs any type of surgery or anything that is very in-depth (in other words, procedures you couldn’t do yourself)!!!!!!!
