Memorial Healthcare is a 150-bed facility with a medical staff of over 180, and over 1,000 employees. We are a not-for-profit hospital governed by an independent Board of Trustees. We are the ONLY hospital in Shiawassee County, serving a population of approximately 105,000. We proudly celebrated our 93rd Anniversary in May of 2014. With 20 satellite offices located throughout Shiawassee County, Memorial Healthcare continues to reach out to our patients in order to provide the very best in health care services. Memorial serves residents from throughout Shiawassee County and several surrounding counties including Saginaw, Clinton, Ingham, and Genesee. Each year we care for over 25,000 emergency patients, 196,000 additional outpatients and over 4,000 inpatients. Memorial Healthcare physicians and staff work together with people in the community to create new and expanded services. The main campus of the Center is situated on 26 acres and houses 221,000 square feet of patient floors and ancilliary services situated along the Shiawassee River in historic Owosso. Memorial Healthcare has been recognized nationally on a state level by industry leaders for excellence in meeting or exceeding patient care standards as well as for its use of technology to address patient care, patient safety, and service quality. Patient Engagement: Becker's Hospital Review and Axial Exchange 2014 Inaugural Survey - #1 in the State of Michigan In a recent survey of 3,077 U. S. hospitals, Memorial Healthcare of Owosso was ranked #1 in the State of Michigan for its patient engagement efforts. As a result of an inaugural survey conducted by Axial Exchange and Becker’s Hospital Review, a Top 100 list was developed recognizing those hospitals achieving the best scores. Memorial Healthcare ranked 28th nationally out of 3,077 hospitals - scoring in the top 99th percentile nationwide and capturing the highest ranking in the State of Michigan. The survey evaluated healthcare providers searching for those with low readmission rates and high patient satisfaction scores. Other factors considered an analysis of what tools and information was made readily available by the healthcare organization to help engage patients throughout their care, such as access to a patient portal (electronic access to personal health data) and the organization’s use of electronic health and medical records.
