ServicesThirty years ago I co-founded Mount Auburn Counseling Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts. As a Harvard educated psychotherapist, I have drawn on my extensive training and experience to build a multifaceted therapy practice. I specialize in the treatment of anxiety and depression and also work with clients helping them address relationship and family issues, parenting concerns, and major life transitions.
In addition to my psychology practice at Mount Auburn Counseling Center, I am a Disaster Mental Health Specialist for the Red Cross. I served on the First Response Team for 9/11 and for the Hurricane Katrina Relief effort, living in a shelter near New Orleans. I also co-authored an award winning children's book, Sugar Was My Best Food: Diabetes and Me. The book focuses on a child's perspective of living with diabetes. .
Kyle is gifted at what she does. She has the ability to provide help and relief for both major things (like depression) and minor things (like an irritating boss). I feel like I can say anything to her and not only is she never shocked by anything - she is also always able to make me feel better about whatever is upsetting me. One thing I find so wonderful about talking with her is that Kyle has traveled all over the world. She loves people and she's insightful into human nature and cultures. I'm married to someone from a different culture and there are sometimes things in our relationship that cause friction just due to cultural differences. Kyle understands the cultural difference - often much better than I do - and she helps me figure out ways to work through the differences. But I think Kyle would be equally helpful for any relationship - she has a way of seeing all sides of a story and getting to the root of problems. She is wonderful and I highly recommend her.
