Dixie Oral Maxillofacial and Implant Surgery is a full scope oral and maxillofacial surgery practice with offices in St. George, Utah, and Cedar City, Utah. Dr. John Mizukawa and Dr. Wayne Dudley have performed over thirty years and over twenty-seven years of oral surgery respectively, making them among the most experienced oral surgeons in Utah. They are area leaders in dental implant technology to restore missing teeth or secure dentures and A.D.A.-recognized specialists in wisdom teeth and other surgical tooth extraction, dental implants, corrective jaw surgery, TMJ, facial trauma and more.
Dr. Wayne Dudley
Also a Utah native (Heber City), Dr. Wayne Dudley joined Dixie Oral Maxillofacial and Implant Surgery
following his retirement from the U.S. Air Force. Serving 22 years, Dr. Dudley retired at the rank of Colonel and in his last assignment, he served as Chairman of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Mike O’Callaghan Federal Hospital located at Nellis AFB in Nevada. He is currently President-elect of the Utah Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Dr. Dudley earned his B.S. degree (Biology major) from Utah State University and his doctorate of Dental
Surgery from University of Washington School of Dentistry. Following graduation, he entered the Air Force and completed his General Practice Residency at Offutt AFB in Nebraska. His oral and maxillofacial surgery training was at the renowned Willford Hall Medical Center at Lackland AFB in Texas.
Currently on staff at Dixie Regional Medical Center, Dr. Dudley is Board Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial
Surgeons,the American Dental Association, Utah Dental Association, the Southern Utah Dental Association, International Congress of Oral Implantologists and the Air Force Society of Clinical Surgeons and Omicron Kappa Upsilon. He has been actively involved in education throughout his career, teaching Advanced Education in Dentistry programs as well as extensive lecturing on oral and maxillofacial surgery topics.
Dr. Dudley and his wife Rebecca (Becki) have three children and their first grandchild joined the family this past year. He is also a BYU Cougars fan but keeps his Utah State Aggies hat close at hand.
Dr. John Mizukawa
A Utah native, Dr. Mizukawa is a graduate of Brigham Young University and the University of Washington School of Dentistry in Seattle, Washington. His oral and maxillofacial surgery residency was completed at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, which serves as a world referral center for the
U.S. Air Force. While practicing for ten years in Maryland near Washington, D.C., Dr. Mizukawa taught in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the Department of Occulusion at Georgetown University School of Dentistry and the Georgetown University Hospital. During those years, he lectured at four dental schools as well as the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda Naval Hospital, Walter Reed Army Hospital, George Washington University Hospital and numerous study clubs.
Dr. Mizukawa is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, American Dental Association, Utah Dental Association, and Southern Utah District Dental Society.
Dr. Mizukawa is very active in family, church and civic activities. He and his wife, Elaine, are the parents of six children and grandparents of nineteen. He currently serves as president of the Southern Utah Heritage Choir and on the board of the Celebrity Concert Series. He is an avid golfer and dedicated BYU Cougars fan.
