I have been a client of KCC for over 10 years with 4 cats. In 2002, Dr. Gulledge was heroic and compassionate with the quality of life for my 21 year old cat. When it was the cat's time to pass on, Dr. Gulledge was professional. She arranged the cremation, even took a shaving of fur, and sent me a sympathy card. She then coached me compassionately about my new kitten, who barely survived a rampant virus that had killed the litter. In contrast, I returned in 2010 with a 16 year old cat with hyperthyroidism. I took him there recently in 2011 because he was doing poorly. Instead of the compassionate, thoughtful treatment my previous cats had received, Dr. Boos was negligent and insulting. She failed to do all the tests, gave me conflicting blood test results, she was reluctant to see him again, but in a week's time I paid over $500 for two visits to do duplicative tests and to actually treat him for the condition. My poor cat suffered with an impaction that should have been treated when I brought him in for the exam. Then, when I questioned the charges, fielded by Michele, Dr. Boos left me an insulting and derogatory voice mail and said that an "old cat" can't be expected to do well, and blamed me for her failure to do an xray the first time. Not only was she insulting, she revealed her disdain of older pets. I wonder what kind of cat is acceptable to her? A perfect young purebreed with no problems? Why is a vet in business anyway, and why call yourself a doctor if you don't want to dispense your medical treatment? A vet is not a judge. I had a wonderful esteem for KCC and it has come crashing down to the lowest level. I came seeking help and my poor cat suffered more, and I ended up paying more, for less. Of course, their negligence forced me to seek their help twice in one week, so she made more money. It seems that you can't get help there now, and if you do, they make it a burden on them and so you have to go back multiple times and each time costs at least $200.
