I am very disappointed in the lack of attention paid to my questions and concerns about my Akita over the last year and a half. I gave the vets a list of textbook symptoms and most of them were ignored, except for the skin issues. Here are the symptoms and maybe some of you will recognize the problem (even though trained vets could not): pot belly, drinking EXCESSIVELY, losing fur, excessive urination, fatigue. I had guessed diabetes or heart condition. The real diagnosis is Cushings and we are losing the battle. If my best friend had been properly diagnosed over a year ago and started on medications, she might have had a better quality of life and even lived many more years. Instead, I was reminded that "she is 11 years old". However, old age is NOT a disease. Not once did either vet get down on the floor to look at or palate her stomach and yet there was almost 7 pounds so fluid drawn off of belly by our new vet the first time he saw her. CVC should be ashamed of themselves for ignoring the patient and her owners.
Their office was well organized and clean. I could tell they took a lot of time making sure it was presentable. They explained all the risks and benefits of my treatment options. Everything was explained in detail, all my questions were answered, and I felt a lot better about choosing a treatment plan. I got an appointment quickly. I've never had to wait too long.
