On October 26th 2012 I reluctantly went back to Grand Island Small Animal after trying to get an appointment at another vet I was referred to, boy were my instincts right about this place from 6 months ago which my first and only other visit when I first got my 1 yr. old male Vizsla. The reason for me going back was I suspected he had a Urinary infection based on some behaviors that were out of the ordinary over the last week or two. After getting into the waiting room with Doctor Nicole Kelver she talked to us for few moments and then explained what she was gonna do to check him out for the infection, durring this time she checked his heart for approx. 15 seconds, That was the extent of my $47.00 physical Exam... I didn't think much of it at the time (but wait) they gave him 2 shots and clipped his nails and said they were able to get some urine for the Urinalysis. They said call back in a few hrs. to get results, we left after the Vet Tech released us no Doctor Kelver in sight, paid the bill and left. Only after getting home did I see I was charged for a Physical.... I was pretty upset that they just throw $50.00 in as a line item for no service performed, not to mention my poor dog was there for a suspected infection she never even took his Temp, much less any other part of a average dog physical exam. Well I called back to get his results and they hadn't even looked at it yet. Thats when I was told if I don't hear back from them by 4pm. call back tommorrow at 10am.. I was Pissed... They gave me antibiotics without even knowing if he had a problem never did any baseline exam to conclude anything was wrong with him, just took my word for it and started the money grab... Called back at 10am and still the receptionist knew nothing about it and told me to give her my number. At that time I told her I needed to speak to Dr. Kelver and she said she would let her know... I told my wife and brother I honestly believe if I didn't call them back they never would have called us. I had to wonder at that point did they even did the test.?? Finally over a Day later Dr. Kelver calls me back with the results or at leaste a story of results. I let her talk then called her out on the Physical he never got... WELL was she suprised.... She then started damage control saying she was doing it while we were talking and that she didnt really do a formal exam and felt bad. This is the best though... She said she didn't examine him to well cause she didn't want to stress my pet... He couldn't be further from a stressed animal you can do anything to this dog and he would be fine... What a crock of CRAP... I asked for my account to be credited back for the exam she did not perform and she so utterly without shame or professional standards she continued her nonsense talk and offered me a free exam in a week, are you kidding me take my dog back to this DEN OF THIEVES, THIS PET MEAT MARKET, are you kidding me... I just called you out as a Liar and a Thief to your face have you know SHAME Dr. Kelver..??

This Place is a Joke and gives the rest of the profession a terrible reputation.. The staff thier was friendly and considerate. I believe in my humble opinion its a culture that has been in place for a long time and just a business model that the Vets there are taught... Do not go to this place... Your pet is a means to an end in the eyes of folks like Dr. Kelvar. I'm guessing my dog was a car payment to her or something. Well as you can tell I'm really disapointed, I can't stay in my neighborhood for pet care thanks to the lack of professionalism and integrity of the Vet I was given....
