My ex-husband and I saw Gil for marriage counseling. When he unexpectedly left me, I called Gil for an appointment. I was quite upset and in emotional crisis. He said the cost would be $100.00. Since I was suddenly on my own financially, I could not afford it. Since I was an established client, one would think Gil would offer me a half appointment, or sliding fee scale or even a referral to an affordable colleague. He did none of those things. He did not care. I found that to be behavior unbecoming of a professional, insensitive to say the least, and against social work values and ethical principles.
