How is professional Christian counseling different from other counseling approaches?

Psalm 1:1 warns us to “walk not in the counsel of the ungodly.” There is such a thing as ungodly counsel, but there is also “Godly” counsel. The existence of a counterfeit is usually testimony of the existence of the genuine. For example, no one would make a counterfeit $100 bill if no genuine $100 bill existed.
Counseling is a realm where the physical, neurological, psychological, and spiritual intersect. The benefit of professional training is undeniable in understanding these dynamics. We offer counseling aimed to promote healing and wholeness, not merely a “patching” of your symptoms.

We offer sound psychological help for all mental and behavioral problems. We are known as a Christian counseling facility, however we work with people from every different faith background, even those with no faith. We make every effort to help you live out your beliefs in a way that is physically, emotionally, and spiritually healthy. Our goal is to provide you services that improve your relationship with yourself, others and God. First and foremost, we promote that a relationship with God is the greatest gift you can receive. Secondly, loving others as you love yourself is one of the greatest gifts you can give to those around you. In order to love others, our counselors will guide you on a journey of seeing and loving yourself more than you ever have before. Our hope is that, through counseling, you will walk away with new and improved beliefs about your worth...that you are: a new creation of infinite worth, deeply loved, completely forgiven, fully pleasing, totally accepted by God, and absolutely complete in every way.* You’ll know that when your performance reflects your identity, according to what God says about you, that reflection is dynamically unique.
