At Edenwald, our objective is to provide the highest quality of care for each and every one of our residents. The Maryland Health Care Commission’s “2012 Maryland Nursing Home Family Survey” gave Edenwald a rating of 9 out of 10 for overall care; the statewide average was 8.3. We are also proud to report that the survey found 97% of respondents would recommend Edenwald. Edenwald is annually reviewed by the Maryland Department of Mental Health and Hygiene and consistently receives high marks across the board. Our facilities are clean and comfortable for our residents, and all uphold to the state of Maryland and Baltimore County hygiene standards. Edenwald prides itself on involving families in the quality care of their loved ones. Families are offered participation in our Care Plan in which Edenwald administration and staff meet with family members to discuss the best care of their loved ones. Edenwald staff is fully trained and committed to prompt, compassionate, and appropriate medical care. Edenwald is a continuing care retirement community located in Towson, Md. One inclusive monthly fee covers virtually all expenses, whether residents are living independently or accessing the assisted living, comprehensive nursing care or specialized memory care areas. Since assisted living and comprehensive nursing care are available right here at Edenwald, residents will be well taken care of by familiar faces, whether an individual’s needs are short-term, such as following a hospital stay, or long-term. Edenwald’s services include assisted living, comprehensive nursing care, and Alzheimer's and dementia services. Learn more about these services below. Assisted living. At Edenwald, assisted living services are provided in Southerly Place and Hoerich’s Hall. Assisted living services include: licensed nurse (RL/LPN) and geriatric nursing assistants on staff seven days per week; physician services including physician visits to monitor care, arranging, coordinating, and transportation for medical appointments, and access to on-staff nurse practitioner; 24 hour a day medical administration; nightly check ins by health care staff members; full-time licensed clinical social worker; emergency call system in each resident room; bathing two times per week; assistance with dressing and managing continence care; three meals and snacks served daily in assisted living dining room; dietary consultations; activity and wellness programming; transportation for group activities; maintenance and upkeep of apartments, community areas, and grounds; daily housekeeping service and laundering of residents’ personal laundry; cable television; individual phone number and unlimited local and long distance telephone services; and on-site amenities including two full-service hair salons, gift shop and general store, library, private dining and social rooms, full-service bank, performing arts auditorium, outdoor patio, and resident computer and business center. Edenwald’s assisted living services allow residents to enjoy their own well-appointed, comfortable apartment home and a host of amenities and services all under one roof, making life convenient and allowing residents to enjoy living at their own pace. Comprehensive nursing care. At Edenwald, comprehensive nursing care is provided in Stroh Hall. It is also provided in Eden Place, which specializes in memory care. Comprehensive nursing care services include: licensed nurses, CGNA and CMAs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; large, bright private rooms with private bathrooms, emergency power, emergency call systems, cable television, telephone service and central oxygen; living room for activities and socializing; medication and treatment administration; 24-hour security and reception services; daily housekeeping services; three restaurant-quality meals and snacks served daily in a gracious and welcoming dining room; on-site beauty salon and barber shop; daily personalized activity programs to meet the unique needs of our residents; physician and nurse practitioner with on-site clinic; laboratory and radiological services; on-site audiology, psychiatry, podiatric, ophthalmology, cardiology, hospice and physical, occupational and speech therapy services; and access to our outdoor therapy garden. At Edenwald, residents receive high quality medical care from a caring, attentive and compassionate staff. Alzheimer's and dementia services. At Edenwald, residents who require memory care can receive specialized treatment through our Alzheimer’s and dementia services which includes safeguards for wandering seniors and caregivers trained in handling dementia behaviors. The Edenwald team consists of an administrator, nursing staff, recreation, housekeeping, dietary specialists, social services, and family and medical doctors. Our nursing staff that works in the Specialized Dementia Assisted Living Unit are licensed in the state of Maryland and include registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, certified geriatric nursing assistants, and medication technicians. Edenwald provides a home-like environment that encourages socialization for individuals with Alzheimer’s and dementia.
