I've taken 2 dogs to this vet center and both dogs were treated by Marcia Barke. The first dog had a cancerous tumor on his tongue and Marcia was very patient while explaining the options to me. I was a bit dazed by the news and had to ask her to repeat some things to me. Marcia was also very compassionate and when the time came to put Tiger to sleep she let us take all the time we needed before she came in the room and all during and after he was asleep. It was a comforting experience for us.

The second dog I took in also saw Marcia..He was in for vacinnes and a general physical as it was a purebred that I was looking to purchase. She was very good about explaining the heath issues that this breed has and she has a calm way about her that really helped the dog, who didn't want any shots, to be calm when getting them.

The only bad experience I've had was not with any of the vets but with an assistant Megan who also does grooming at the center.. I took my
Cavalier King Charles Spaniel in to have some straggler hairs that were sticking out instead of blending in with the rest of his coat and also to have about an inch of the hair around his paws taken off. He was basically to have a trim where needed to make his coat look less unruly. When I came to pick him up I had a big surprise as she had cut his hair all over, taking out all of the layers and feathering that is natural to this breed and she had shaved his paws bare. He had about 3" around and under his pads before she did this. I didn't say anything at the time other than to comment how much shorter it was than what I had expected to see. It was closing time and I didn't want to delay her and the staff needed to lock up. When I got home it hit me how bad this could be as I would not be able to show him until his coat grew out which will take about a year. I hadn't told her I was showing him but I did go on the internet with her and showed her what I wanted him to look like (and that was with a coat and feathering that didn't have a lot of wayward pieces sticking out. I even demonstrated how much I wanted snipped (just the tips) with my fingers on several of the wayward pieces. What made this whole experience even worse is that when I told her how disappointed I was and how this had hurt his showing and therefore his potential points earned which would have raised his value as a stud, she blamed me and said I wasn't clear about what I wanted her to do. This baffles me because unless I had drawn a diagram for her I couldn't have been more clear about what I wanted. So I not only got blamed for her making the mistake but her boss took her word for it, even though other vets were nearby as I told Megan what I wanted her to do, and refused to offer any refund or even an apology. I will never take a dog there for grooming again and because of the rude tone that the manager Nancy used with me I don't think I will even take my dog to see the vet Marcia.

My animal was treated well by the veterinarians. They were willing to answer any and all questions I had about the treatment for my pet. I was disappointed that none of the vets had any knowledge of alternative or holistic treatments for my animal's condition.
Because my animal needed an x-ray and several follow-up visits, I amassed a bill of several hundred dollars. The vet told me "don't worry about it," and to pay when I could. I was going to school and working part-time. I needed special food and medicine for my dog, and every week or two I would drop in to pick up supplies and make a small payment toward the bill. The main receptionist was very pushy with receiving payments-but I chalked it up to assertiveness.
Imagine my surprise today when she called me at home after I had gotten off the phone with the vet several minutes earlier, to refill a prescription. She told me that unless I came up with at least 100 dollars, the clinic would not fill my dog's 16 dollar prescription the next morning. I protested and explained I could make a smaller payment, perhaps 50 dollars. Her tone of voice, attitude toward me, and complete disregard for my animal's health was completely unacceptable and disgusting. She ended the phone call threatening to never allow my dog to be treated there again.
I am a huge animal lover, and a reasonable person. I was making payments on a bill that ultimately was pennies to a large-animal vet clinic. The manner is which Jan ( I think that was her name) spoke to me was absolutely terrible. She shamed me for being poor, and denied medication to an animal whose lungs were full of fluid, due to heart failure.
I have never been treated so poorly by a representative of a business. I am absolutely disgusted and saddened over this woman's total lack of professionalism and empathy. I do not plan to continue my dog's care at a clinic that employs such a rude and un-kind person. Shame on her.
