I felt ashamed and imbarased to have to ask for help. But these ladies helped me when I couldn't help myself. They explained the process and helped me when I needed it. I am greatful that a organization like this is available. Because even though I work with my 2 kids it is sometimes hard for me to make ends meet.

I was amazed how harsh they were. They were extremely rude and impolite. I went there today to sign my 6yr. old daughter up for the Christmas list. Well my daughter and I live with my father due to my ex-husband leaving us stranded, broke and homeless in Ft. Hood, Tx.. My dad pays the bills and we are just LIVING there, I get food and health benefits through the snap and star programs, my dad does NOT buy us anything and he provides his own meals, well the lady told me that since we live with my dad that HE has to come open a case with them and he would also have to be eligible for me to even get Christmas Help. I tried explaining to the lady that my dad does NOT buy us anything, and that I was just needing Christmas Help, I didn't want any other kind of help, and with his job, I know he wouldn't be eligible. But she didn't care, she kept speaking over me being very RUDE..... I started crying so I walked out before I looked more like a idiot. I don't think how thier running that place is right, JUST because you live with someone does NOT mean you are getting financial help from that person, so basically if I can't get help through another program my daughter goes without Christmas this year. No I can not work right this moment due to a lot of unresolved health problems, all I wanted was help for Christmas, My daughter's father in Fl. isn't even paying his child support, so I don't have any financial means, unless I collect my soda cans or sell my stuff. They need to change the business name, because I thought CHRISTIAN actually meant something, but apparently NOT...
