Do I have to even put a star??? It has took me two months to be able to even put this due to mourning. The first of November my sweet Oscar was not acting like himself on Thursday afternoon. Vomiting, weak, not eating or drinking. My husband made an appointment with East Rome Animal Clinic for the first available appointment they had which was approximately 3pm Friday. Oscar was given a shot and we were told that he was just had a sore throat. Confused with the news we followed the vets instructions and continued to push fluids and soup via syringe. When I arrived home that afternoon Oscar was shivering and cold to the touch. Because I trusted the Vet's diagnosis I assumed it was probably a reaction to the steroid shot. THE VERY NEXT DAY.... Saturday Oscar could not walk; he had lost all of his strength. After I started pushing a clear Pedialyte I noticed blood tinged liquid coming out and he would not swallow. I immediately swooped him up and rushed to the after hours ER Vet. Upon arriving it was obvious that Oscar was critical, but I was in no way expecting to have to tell my sweet Ozzy goodbye forever. Broken hearted I held him as he took his last breathe. My best friend of 5 years was gone. Turns out he had ingested an unknown substance that was toxic to his body. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS VET. I truly believe if diagnosed correctly I would still have my sweet boy to snuggle and love on.
