The Comprehensive Bleeding Disorders Center (CBDC) was incorporated in 1996 as a nonprofit organization, established specifically to serve people with congenital bleeding disorders. Osvaldo H. Wesly, MD, serves as the Medical Director for CBDC. It is the only federally-funded center in Illinois outside of Chicago providing and supporting comprehensive services to persons with bleeding and clotting disorders.

Services The Centers mission is to provide comprehensive care, outreach and other services to children and adults with blood clotting/bleeding disorders, their families and the communities in which they live. We strive to improve the quality of life for all affected by blood clotting disorders, increase awareness of and access to comprehensive care, and improve understanding and treatment of clotting disorders through state-of-the-art education, research and advocacy.

Comprehensive Bleeding Disorders Center is guided by a volunteer Board of Directors. Since 1998, CBDC staff has provided a wide range of programs and services including blood clotting products, home infusion training, education, and outreach programs for patients and providers.

Their primary concern is my safety and comfort, and they always take the time to address every concern of mine immediately. I don't think I have ever been put on hold here for a long time and am so impressed with how quickly all of my questions are answered. There's nothing worse than having to wait on hold for a half an hour just to get someone to talk to you. One thing I noticed about their office was how absolutely fantastic it smelled. They must clean or sanitize all the time. It was nice to see them treat their staff with so much respect. It was obvious that they had a good relationship with all of their staff members. They went out of their way to make me feel special and respected, and were very sympathetic to my situation. I've never seen more kindness and empathy anywhere else.

They always go above and beyond to help me with anything I need. They never complain about anything, and I know I can always count on them. The waiting room here is spacious. I never feel like I have to sit too close to someone or that it is overcrowded. They aren't even slightly arrogant, and I'm confident they always have my best interest at heart.
