Billed for a thumb splint that was not needed from the ER. Since I walked out with it, I have to pay for it. The allowable cost to BCBS is $149.40 which is now pushed down to the patient.BTW the split was made in Taiwan which we all can deduce the true cost of this produce. No wonder our health care is in shambles. Additionally, if you go online to DJO, LLC ( the manufacturer on the splint) they offer the same split for 24.99.
This is beyond egregious. We are talking pure greed here. Wake up consumers and ask question before you walk out with unnecessary splits from the ER that you will never use. Shame on you Grace Care LLC.
