Who We Are
The Veterinary Trauma Center is a unique practice that offers advanced level care to sick or injured dogs and cats.
The VTC is a high tech facility providing surgical, medical and urgent care for Lake, Sumter and Orange County.
Centrally located in Groveland across from Hardees Restaurant, the Center offers Orthopedic, General, and Reconstructive surgery for small animals.
Cardiac, GI and Cancer medical services are also available for dogs and cats.
Aside from in-house laboratory testing, other sophisticated diagnostics such as contrast radiography, ultrasonography and endoscopy are also provided.
Chief of Staff, Dr. Ronald Stone has over thirty years of experience including a Clinical Assistant Research Professorship in Surgery at the University of Miamis School of Medicine.
He has served as Executive Secretary for three national veterinary organizations and has authored over 75 articles and research papers.
The Veterinary Trauma Center offers twenty-four hour patient monitoring if needed, and as an added benefit an after hours doctor-on-call emergency service is available seven days a week for dogs and cats.
Referrals and second opinions are welcomed and are treated according to the professions ethical code of conduct.

The Veterinary Trauma Center is primarily a daytime practice. We do however handle after hours small animal emergencies 7 days a week. Please call ahead to notify us of your arrival and to receive first aid instructions. After hours we operate as a doctor "On Call Service" rather than a "walk-in" clinic . This means that the doctor is available to respond to your emergency, but may not be present in the center.
24 hour doctor and nursing service for dogs and cats is provided on an as needed or requested basis for the Lake and Sumter County area.
We accept most major credit cards, telecheck approved checks, and also offer care credit with one year interest free financing for those approved.
