I own a pit bull, he's a sweet doggie but other vets have been scared of him. Our previous vet wouldn't even touch our dog, he instead preformed the exam from across the room. I'm happy to say Blackiston was very good to roscoe. They were not intimidated at all and gave great service

I took my senior Yorkie to this vet as a 1st time client because she has some new scary symptoms. A hard bloated stomach and a persistent cough. The vet was seemingly angry/pre occupied the entire time and didn't give her a full exam. He was reading something, standing at a table on the other side of the room for the full visit. I would tell him things and he wouldn't answer me most times because he was reading. He wasn't reading the dog's records bc they were never sent. He wasn't reading the entrance file bc that was only a couple of questions. He never made eye contact with me the entire time. He asked me a couple of questions and each time I tried to answer, he interrupted me. I couldn't finish a sentence. He was so rushed, rude and angry. He only came to the exam table once to check her heart. He literally stood across the room reading for the full exam. He didn't check anything else at all (not her stomach, not her ears, nothing). Then he took her to another room for blood work. I told him I want a heartworm test too. After blood was drawn he told me it would be one to two days for the results. Tomorrow it will be 5 days and I don't have the results. A 5 day old HW test is no good, she could have got bit this week. Most places get tesults for HW in 10 minutes. Prevention doesn't kill them, treatment does. I called them 3x for the results. I paid $182 for him to put a tethescope on her and that's all I got out of it. I need to make a vet appt somewhere else now to get a HW test and a check up. Her symptoms are worse daily. There is definitely something wrong with my dog. He also told me I have 2 phone #s and asked which one to call. I only have 1 # so that was weird. when I made the appt it was for last Friday. I called later and rescheduled it for Monday. I called Monday a.m. to confirm the appt for that day and he said it was last Fri. I reminded him that I had canceled that and rescheduled. So he fit me in on Monday All these mistakes on the 1st visit and I didn't get what I paid for. They never even offered to call and check on my test results (where ever they are).

was really hoping this would be our new vet because the one we are used to is over an hour away since we moved. And this one is right down the road so it would have been very convenient. But sadly this place was extremely disappointing. This vet was very rude and disrespectful! Talked down to me and acted like I was an idiot and then tried to say that I was lying about my pets injury and that I didn't know what I was talking about. He was not the slightest but friendly or courteous at all and did absolutely nothing for my pet. I wasted $50 and I will not be taking another pet here! This is by far the worst experience I have ever had. The kid at the front desk was very friendly and kind. I really liked him. It seemed like it was going to go well. But when we got back to the vet and I was asking for advice and guidance he was useless! I am horribly disgusted by this place. I will be driving the hour to go back to our original vet!
