Bringing my mother to Hospice was one of the best decisions that I have made. We ended up staying longer than anyone expected, but it gave me a wonderful chance to spend precious time with her. She was so well taken care of, always clean, always moved from position to position, a beautiful clean room, and a perfect place to say good-bye. It is never the right time, but Hospice in Port Jefferson made it as acceptable as it can be. She passed away with dignity, constant care, and I was able to be there and be very comfortable with her. The whole staff is very empathetic, sympathetic, and understanding. It is a wonderful place to have memorial donations sent to. It is important to keep it going so that other patients can receive this special inpatient care.
